Classic west coast dis album
Ok I know this album is a little old, but still its pretty hot in my opinion. The pro Westside trio consists of Mack 10 (who has his moments but really isnt that special lyrically), Ice Cube (this is his last dope album), And W.C (one of the illest in the left coast). They put out one of the hardest, controversial albums in hip hop. Back in 96 when the west (as Cube claims) wasn't getting the love out in N.Y. Cube and his comrades released an onslaught on N.Y. and that can be heard on the song Critics of New York, Despite its dissing, its still a banging track Where Cube just sets it off: "Fuck every critic in the N.Y.C. tryin to get an East hip hop Monopoly but I been writin gangsta shit since 93 while yall was scared to use profanity." The disses don't stop there, Former member QTIP gets hit by W.C. on cross em out wit a K,: "I once knew this bitch by the name of Qtip who claim to have a problem with this gangsta shit behind the doors, runnin his mouth like a trick till this nigga by the name of dove caught him slippin tied his ass up and threw him in a truck put a apple in his mouth and dug his ass out I lead him down his body stashed In a trash bag wit a cue cover in his ass." Soon afterwards Rap Group Cypress hill gets blasted by Cube and Mack 10 on the joint "King of the Hill" a Response to Cypress hill's no rest for the wicked, It may not be cubes best diss record (No Vasalline was his best) but him and Mack 10 still delivered some tough blows: "Comin wit a voice high pitch The B in B real must stand for Bitch!" But don't think this whole record is about dissing. There are some bangers such as the Hoo Bangin remix feat AllfrumthaI and The Commradz; and the Radio Singles Bow Down and Gangstas make the world go round. Your Typical Bonnie n clyde but tight ass song Westward Ho and The Gangsta, The Dopedealer the Killer is one of the albums highlights.
There really isnt a bad track on here, I can do without 3 time Felons and Do you like Criminals, but aside this, everyone should cop this because this was Ice Cubes last tight album (before he got into that don mega crap). Mack 10 and W.C. held it down lyrically as well, even though they are cool with everyone now, this album will always be classic gangsta shit, WESTSIDDDE!
